4th of July

It was nice to have such a long weekend for the 4Th of July. Saturday we just spent the day relaxing and getting things ready for the baby's arrival. Sunday we went over to the Radford's for a great lunch and then headed to the Linthorst's for dinner and a firework show. Dinner was great and every year my brother Frank goes all out for with the fireworks. Every neighbor comes to watch but this year we sat inside the house watching Toy Story. Our son is officially a wimp this year. He couldn't handle the noise either. Hopefully next year he has grown out of it. But other than that everything was great!
Coleman's sister Hailey left for her mission on Wednesday, she is serving in Tacoma, Washington. We miss her already but know she will be a great missionary!
We are getting closer to the arrival of our baby girl. I am scheduled to be induced around the 24Th of this month but will know for sure the day and time tomorrow. It may just end up we share the same birthday. I am just ready and done being prego. I can't grow anymore I swear!

Waiting for the fireworks to start but quickly having a meltdown once we got the "pop its" out!

Ike an Ethan playing around! Such cute boys!

Enjoying the sun at Cowabunga Bay.

Ike misses his Aunt Hailey!

And Ike loves to play Captain Hammer..its a character off a backyardigans show. He is such a nut!

Garden

I am so glad we decided to plant a vegetable garden. All the hard work and patience is starting to pay off. Everything is growing and some veggies we have already been able to enjoy. We can't wait for late summer/ early fall to see what else comes up.

Potty Training!

About a week and half ago I took on the challenge of potty training Isaac. People think I am crazy for not waiting till he is 3. They say boys are much harder to train do to the fact they don't pick up on things as quickly as girls. Yes I can say that is true but Isaac is such a clean freak that it didn't surprise me when he didn't like the feeling of peeing in his big boy pants. I read the book Toilet training in less than a day. I didn't stick to the guidelines but just took small tips from the book that worked well with Isaac. Everything went great the first 3 days then suddenly it went south. He decided he didn't like pooping in the toilet and held it for 2 days then letting go in his big boys. I seriously thought I was going to have a breakdown and give up right then and there. (REMEMBER; PREGNANCY= RAGING HORMONES) The issue continued for 2 days and I almost pulled out the hidden diaper stash. But soon I found that getting mad and frustrated in front of him was not going to change anything. I sat him down (on his potty) and told him about every Disney character I could think of that he likes and how they don't like making poops in their pants, he then decided at that moment it was OK and that he didn't want a dirty bum and went in the potty. Hallelujah!!! Things have been better since and no accidents (well minus a couple wet pull ups at night). Now I wont have to worry about double diaper duty come the end of next month! Oh just have to leave you with one of the many comments Isaac has come up with during this whole potty training experience! He was sitting on the potty trying to pee (since I literally was taking him every 15-20 mins the first day) and he couldn't get anything out. He turns to me and says, "mommy my pee pee needs new batteries, it's not working." My child has a solution for everything that goes wrong!

Catching up!

I know its been awhile since my last post. I usually feel like I'm on top of this blogging thing. Trust me every day the for the last two weeks I have sat down and said "today is the day i post," and some how I am distracted by everything else. So to update you its been a very fun month. We had a very nice Easter weekend and actually got our vegetable garden planted that week (pictures to come). The new place we are living in has a 60ft by 40 ft plot for a vegetable garden. I know you probably think we are crazy for going out there and planting as many vegetables as possible and me being 7 months pregnant but we are very excited! Things are sprouting and hopefully if there is NO MORE SNOW, we will have more.

The last week of April we had the chance to go down to San Diego, CA. We got lucky with the weather and only had overcast for one of the 5 days we were there. Coleman's mission companion got married over the weekend and what a better excuse for a vacation. We stayed in this great place called Paradise Point in the Mission Bay area. The beach was only a 5 minute drive. The best part of the vacation is my bff Beth came from Phoenix with her cute family. We got a lot of much needed bonding time in! I miss you guys already and Isaac is always asking where his Lisa is (Isaac insists that Beth's name is Lisa). While we were down there we got the San Diego Zoo in, toured the USS Midway (WWII aircraft carrier), beach time, great food, and Downtown Disney. I know you are probably thinking why just Downtown Disney? Well Ike is only 2 and its too expensive to go especially when I can't even ride anything. So maybe in 2 or 3 years we will go all out! Well enough blabbering for now, enjoy the pics!

It's a Girl!

We are so excited to announce we are having a little girl. We are so excited! Sorry it took me so long to post but my computer died last week and I just got it back, hurray!

We can't wait for this little girl to get here, which I shouldn't be getting too excited with my due date not being till August 5th. I am excited for all the girly shopping and getting to decorate a little girls room.
Have a great week!

Cravings

So far is this pregnancy, not that I'm that far into it yet, I have had some odd cravings. I remember with Ike I ate everything. It all tasted good, especially that fatty stuff. So far this pregnancy I had and still have the craving for steamed zucchini and yellow squash for almost every meal it seems like. I finish a cucumber each day and love my pickles. The funniest craving I had this week was for pintos and cheese from Taco Bell. OK I haven't eatin Taco Bell since middle school. So last night I went and finally got a pintos and cheese. Tasted alright, not as good as my mind made it to be and now that craving has passed. So weird, maybe my body was just wanting some protein.

Good Bye 2009

It has been a busy couple of months. I know I am behind on my blogging but I am hoping this will catch us up to date. We started off holidays with Grandma Audrey's 75Th birthday party. We all pitched in to make it a great party. Thanksgiving we spent the day with the Radford's. Food of course was always good. I made the pumpkin pies this year from scratch. The easiest part was boiling and smashing the pumpkin. They tasted so good. The evening finished off with the most important part, the black Friday ad event. We scope out all the ads and hit the sales asap. Some started at midnight and other didn't start till 6am. It is an all night event. Unfortunately I was unable to attend but I was able to meet up with everyone the next morning. We finished it off with leftovers and games.
Dave and Erin came to Utah this year for the holidays. They had to go to Vegas for her friends wedding so we took Royal for the weekend. He was so much fun and so entertaining. Ike couldn't get enough. They played hard and slept well. It was so nice!
Christmas Eve we spent the evening with the Radford's and did our gift exchanges. My mom flew in that night but we didn't meet up with everyone till the next morning.
We got to try Erin's fabulous sour dough pancakes and just hang out. Dinner was at the Linthorst's and finished off with a fun game of White Elephant exchange. New Years for us this year was real mellow. It was just Coleman, my mom, and myself. Ike was in bed early due to lack of a nap. We ordered out Chinese and played card games. It was a perfect end to a busy week.

We are excited for the New Year and what is has to bring. We hope everyone has a wonderful New Year!

I love this picture...Isaac kept hiding behind Royal and whispering "hide hide." It made Roy laugh so hard.
