Our Little Man is 2!

Our Little Man is 2!

I can't believe our little Ike is 2! Time goes by so fast with your kids. I miss him being a tiny baby in my arms. It definitely is fun to have a toddler around. It amazes me everyday the things they learn. His vocab is growing like crazy, he's a growing boy himself, and he loves to learn more. For his birthday we had a Monster Party. He has an obsession with Monsters Inc. right now and loves to talk about monsters. We had all the cousins over for food and games. We started off with coloring, then pin the eye on the monster, watched little sponges grow into monsters in a glass, and enjoyed cake and presents. It was so much fun to have all the family there. We love our little boy and are so proud of him.

Already knew what to do, as soon as he saw those candles they were out.

Summer Projects

This summer I decided to take on some home projects. I've never been a big project girl but decided it was time to test my skills. I learned how to use a sewing machine, which may sound weird to all your amazing women that a 25 year old women is just learning how to use one. It was a challenge but I really do enjoy it now. My first project thanks to my sister in law Erin, was this baby quilt. It turned out so darling and I was so excited to see it completed. I then tried my painting skills and made a magnet board. Later I was at Anthropologie and came across the cutest fabric letters. I decided I would take on the task and make my own. It was so easy and turned out so cute! The latest project was I to reupholster a chair. I know sounds a little out there but with the help of Page I was able to do it and it turned out pretty good. For now I am taking a break from my projects but I am excited about my finished products.

Chicago/Half Marathon

The second week of September we got to go visit Dave, Erin, and RB in Chicago. We had so much fun. Dave and Erin took us all around town. They live right on Lake Michigan with the coolest view from their 20Th story apartment. We had great food everyday. One of my favorites was our breakfast one morning at Eleventh City Diner. Check out the picture below.Friday we got tickets to a Chicago Cubs game . Ike loved every minute of it. Of course they won the game. Sunday I ran my 3rd half marathon this year. It was so fun the only challenge was the weather, 97% humidity and 83 degrees outside. Coming from Salt Lake with not much humidity mixed with warmer weather was quite the adjustment. It still turned out awesome. The rest of the time we just relaxed, shopped Michigan Ave, and checked out Ohio Beach on Lake Michigan. Every evening the guys would go out and find some true Chicago Style food. Coleman's favorite was the Hot Italian Beef sandwiches. So good!
Thanks again Dave, Erin, and RB for an awesome trip. You guys live in an awesome city! We miss you already!

Lots to catch up!

It's been awhile since I have updated so i figured I would sit down and get it done. In August we had a Radford family reunion in Shelley, Idaho. Those who know me know that I am not a camper. We got a tent when we got married from Coleman's grandma and this was our first time using it. It was only for one night but one night was all I needed :) We had so much fun with all the Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. Ike loved being surrounded by kids. That same weekend we made it home on time to see the Ricker's. They were in town for the weekend visiting friends. It was good to see little Gwen and the fam. We miss you guys already! My brother Dave came at the beginning of the month with his friend Jonah for a few days. It was fun to see the kids hanging all over their Uncle D.

Last week was our trip to Chicago. I will update more about our trip next.

We got Ike a little outdoor pool to play. He loved every minute of it.

25th Birthday/Holiday weekend

It was a great Holiday weekend. We got Coleman for a full 3 days. Friday we celebrated Pioneers Day. Ike has been recovering from an ongoing cold so instead of taking him out swimming we headed to the mall for some shopping. It was great, we hit up our favorite CPK and the Nordstrom sale. Later we bbq'd and relaxed. We kept it simple and just did a few fireworks for Ike. Saturday I got up way to early and did my usual run. Later that evening we got together with the Nuttalls for a birthday celebration. A lot of us all have birthday's right around each other. It was great food!
Sunday I got to sleep in and woken up to breakfast in bed, my favorite, strawberry crepes. I had to go to church and help with my sunbeam class but soon skipped out. Coleman surprised me with some new perfume, Viva La Juicy, by Juicy Couture. I haven't had a new perfume since before I was prego with Ike. It smells amazing. Later Coleman and I got to go out to the Rodizio Grill, just the two of us. It was so amazing, a lot of food but so good. It was a wonderful birthday. He also made me my favorite kind of cake...funfetti cake and funfetti frosting. So simple but so good.
Sorry there a lot of pictures of Ike but he's so fun right now and such a personality.
